The Model is on First
Costello: I’m trying to get our new workflow organized, but all these AI names are killing me. You’re the expert—who’s running the data processing?
Abbott: Exactly.
Costello: No, I’m asking you. Who is the AI model running the data?
Abbott: Who is the model.
Costello: That’s what I’m asking! What’s the name of the AI?
Abbott: No, What is the interface. Who is the model.
Costello: I don’t know!
Abbott: He’s the end-user. We’re not talking about him right now.
Costello: Look, I just want to know the name of the AI on the server.
Abbott: Who.
Costello: The AI on the server!
Abbott: Who is on the server.
Costello: I’m asking YOU who is on the server!
Abbott: That’s what I’m telling you! Who is the model, What is the interface, and I Don’t Know is the user submitting the tickets.
Costello: Wait a minute. You have an AI called "What"?
Abbott: Only the interface. You type into What, and What sends it to Who.
Costello: I type into what?
Abbott: Yes.
Costello: When I type into the box, what am I typing into?
Abbott: Precisely.
Costello: I’m asking you what is the box called!
Abbott: What is the box called.
Costello: I DON’T KNOW!
Abbott: He’s the user! Leave him out of this!
The Breakdown
In this version, the logic (or lack thereof) follows the same circular path:
Who: The Large Language Model (LLM).
What: The User Interface (UI).
I Don’t Know: The confused End-User.
Because: The Logic/Algorithm (he’s the "Manager" in the original).
Costello: Okay, let’s start over. I take a prompt. I give the prompt to...
Abbott: Who.
Costello: The AI!
Abbott: Who is the AI.
Costello: I give it to the AI, and the AI gives me an answer. Now, who gives me the answer?
Abbott: Naturally.
Costello: Who gives me the answer?
Abbott: No, Who gives you the output. Naturally is the neural network.
Costello: I give a prompt to Who, the output comes from Who, and it all goes through Naturally?
Abbott: Now you’ve got it.
Costello: I quit. I’m going back to manual spreadsheets.
Abbott: You can't. Why is the legacy system.
